jeremy and i love tree houses. we stayed in one for our honeymoon in st. john. it would be so fun to make a tradition of staying in different tree houses to celebrate special anniversaries :) here's one i absolutely love.
how serene is that?

caroline's new room
c-line what do you think? i think it looks just like you.
being the detail obsessed graphic designer i am, i spent way longer making this room in indesign than it did to furnish it. i'll have to figure out a better way to do it next time :)
1. i copied this painting for you // frame
2. lamps
3. bedside tables (we painted them this color blue/green)
4. headboard
5. we made the yellow ones from this fabric // flower pillow
6. gray quilt and pillow set
7. gold pouf (for putting your shoes on it the morning)
8. white comforter
9. this easy to make burlap bedskirt
10. rug

sausage, lemon & swiss chard lasagna
i made this lasagna over the weekend for jeremy and i after seeing it in Martha Stewart Living and then again on a CUP OF JO. we are trying to cook out of our comfort zone and i had never cooked with swiss chard before. of course it didnt look as pretty as martha's but it was really, really good! i used sweet italian turkey sausage and we really didnt miss the real stuff one bit. we will definitely do this one again!
hail
jeremy and i planted our garden yesterday! last year we planted all kinds of herbs and vegetables in raised beds jeremy made from some extra wood planks found at the lake. he even set up an irrigation system so we wouldnt have to worry about watering them.
this year we planted in containers due to our lack of a yard. i cant tell you how excited i am to cook with fresh herbs again!
here is our set-up:
home depot didnt have jalapenos yet and its too late to grow from seed so we will have to add a pot when we get it. when we were finished planting, we went on a couple of errands and when when we got back it had hailed! our precious new baby plants were crushed by hail! the dill and basil suffered the most -- the hail tearing holes in the basil leaves and trying to bury the dill in its soil!

here is our set-up:
i planted a yellow snapdragon with creeping jenny in the planter on the left. in the cluster of planters we have tomatoes in the huge pot in back corner (i hope it grows all the way to the window sill!), arugula seeds with the bell peppers, fern leaf dill, rosemary and lavender. in the pots on the sills is basil, parsley and cilantro. the ones coming up between the sidewalk and the house we didnt plant -- they were already there :)

REALLY?! HAIL? what are the odds of that happening only a couple of hours after you plant your garden? and on such a pretty sunny & warm day? so strange.
hopefully they will survive! they are looking better already but we will see.
adele
i have been listening to adele constantly. she is awesome. her whole new album is awesome. here is one of my favs (and i love the video).
small space
this renovation really wow-ed me! i especially love that the door is hidden in a staircase.
before (it was used as attic space):
after:
erika, you are a genius. i love it.

dark skies
it's been very dark & stormy here in greenville this afternoon.
see!
all this rainy weather makes me really want to see a rainbow! i don't think its going to happen this time since it's already dark, so i came across a few man-made ones to scratch the itch.
here are a few of my favorites:
[fiber installation by sébastien preschoux]
[bracelet from anthropologie]
[embroidered artwork starring bigfoot -- megan whitmarsh]
